Schuller's is a simple (window-less) neighborhood bar that can get quite a varied after-work crowd. They have cheap happy hour deals including 1/2 price bottles of wine and $3.50 glasses of house. What truly differentiates this place from other dumpy bars is their food. The menu offers more than typical bar fare, i.e. wings, burgers and fried food, even cooking up some healthy-ish options. My favorite is the grilled chicken pita with sliced lettuce, tomatoes, juicy seasoned chicken strips, and a thick, intensely garlicky tzatziki-like sauce that makes this dish so scrumptious. If you want to liven up the atmosphere, a jukebox is available on premise. My friends select some pretty horrendous songs (i.e. "Call Me Maybe") but there's gotta be some good options in that music box too. The service here is nothing to brag about. They do their job sans smiles. But, this is no La Belle Vie. Mediocre service passes here.

Typical dive bar, but w/a bad attitude. They sponsored our hockey team a few years back, but we stopped going after a while because they always seemed to act as if it were a chore to serve us on a Sat/Sun night, and it regularly took 40 minutes+ to fire up crappy, frozen pizzas.

Why is the kitchen closed on Saturday...

Schuller's is the perfect destination if you are looking for an old school bar and grill. They have great burgers, fries, beer selection and a unique rotating specials menu. You can pretty much get anything your heart desires here. For example, my dad wanted a down home meatloaf dinner complete with mashed potatoes and boiled carrots, boom, he got it, and it was good. i couldn't pass up the roast beef sandwich with horsey sauce and steak fries and my sister got a BLT. You go Schuller's, you feed me with whatever I crave and you're so low key about your awesomeness, I thank you.

When you're in the Western 'burbs but not in the mood for the scene and pretense of Bacio, Redstone or Crave but don't feel like driving into the city for some decent dive bar action, Schuller's steps up to the plate. Cheap bear, friendy service, okay food, pull tabs, free popcorn.

pull tabs, cheap beer, good homemade pizza. the burgers are even good, but always over cooked. too many windows to be a dive bar (and no trough). I have to thank my friend denny for bringing me here years ago. good times.
